The Easiest Mistake
As I sat at the dining room table, the morning light streamed in the window blinding my already blurry eyes. My mind flitted through the million tasks that I had to accomplish before nightfall. My coffee cup stared up at me, each sip promising pep for my day while failing to actually deliver. Slowly my eyes begin pouring over my bible’s pages after my sorry excuse for a prayer. Nothing sinks in, nothing captures my attention…what did I read again? I don’t remember. I yawn and close the book with a promise to attempt later. Big mistake.
Have you been there?
If you are anything like me, you’ve been in stretchy pj’s and messy bun barely able to keep your eyes open while trying to fill yourself up with the Lord. Try as you may, you’ve missed the mark. Your next attempt is a full day on an empty tank and you’ve just set yourself up for failure my friend.
Lorin Martinez from My Story Defined gives very convincing reasons why our God time should be the most intentional part of our day. How else will we be able to give unless we are filled up?

Please make sure you stop over and read Lorin’s post “When You Are Trying To Do Godly Works Apart From Him”. You’ll be glad you did. I was.

Oh m, this is so true! And the guild you feel after not having a productive time with God sucks. I realized, as unglamorous as it seems, I have to literally pencil in my morning time with God to ensure that He isn’t left at our meeting waiting for me…haha. Thank you for this!

Oh that is so true! Just because we don’t show up doesn’t mean He isn’t there waiting for us. I just love that analogy. God bless you!
