- Healing
- Evangelism

- Serving
God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
1 Peter 4:10 NLT
While this list is a good place to start there are several more mentioned within different verses in the Bible. A great reference to these verses can be found in this article within the Ministry Tools Resource Center.
Determining Spiritual Gifts
I can remember not so long ago taking a test at Church that would help me discover what my spiritual gifts might be. It determined that my gifts were first in the Administration and second in Discernment.
I can remember being disappointed because I thought my gifts would have fallen into a different category. Something like teaching, or serving. Now I can reflect on that test and know that my gifts of the Holy Spirit are intertwined with each other in a way that God perfectly determined while I was formed in my Mother’s womb. They all come together so that I can fulfill the purpose He has for me. Talents that are useful for His glory, not my own.

I also now know that that test wasn’t the end all be all in determining what my gifts were, but to direct me towards what they might be. Many of us have more than one Spiritual Gift. More than one talent that we can use to glorify the Lord. There are several online tests that will help you determine what your spiritual gifts might be. While this isn’t a fool proof method, it can be a good guide to seeing where your strengths are.

Now I can say, I’m very grateful for the gifts He has blessed me with. I see now how they are coming into play in an ever so divine way in ministry.
“This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.”
2 Timothy 1:6 NLT
This week I am featuring Robin from Robinality and her post called “How Does God Plan To Use You” because she goes over the different areas of gifting we may have and how they are useful in serving each other. I just love the scriptures she references too! Please make sure you read her post before linking up.

Ohhh spiritual gifts one of my favorite topics is spiritual gifts. Years ago I literally read every book I could find on the topic. I got intrigued by it as a teenager at church camp. They had breakout sessions and one was on spiritual gifts. While all my friends went to messy sports for breakout I went and learned about spiritual gifts.
I then took classes on the topic in Seminary. I learned so much. My gifts are teaching and exhortation.

Wow Alyssa!
How intriguing! I would have guessed that teaching is a gift of yours. You teach me every time I read one of your posts! Exhortation sounds like it is a lot of responsibility. That is the first time that I have heard that exhortation is a gift. You learn something new every day! Thanks for stopping in : )
